The right address, down to the door number.
viario validates, normalizes and geocodes Italian addresses, for orders, shipments, customer records and deliveries. We are opening a closed beta: it is free and people come in in waves, from the waitlist.
How it works
Send the address as it is written
Abbreviations, c/o, staircase, unit and notes in the middle of the street line: we separate them and keep only the address.
We look it up in the road database
Street, number, postcode and municipality are checked together, against a database built from official sources.
Get the address and the point
Normalized address with the ISTAT code, coordinates and precision. Or “to be verified”, with up to five candidates and their score, or KO with the reason.
One call, one answer
Send the address as written. You get street, door number, postcode, city and province, the point on the map and how precise it is, plus an outcome: resolved, to check or not identified.

What sets it apart
Built for Italian addresses
It starts from the national road database: door numbers, hamlets, streets with several names and common abbreviations.
Honest about doubt
When it is not sure it says «to check» and tells you. It does not guess.
A point with its precision
The point on the map comes with its level of detail: civic, interpolated, street or city.
Data and servers in Europe
Servers are hosted in Germany and the data stays in Europe.
Even when there are notes
Real addresses carry intercom names, time windows, «leave with the porter». An AI model separates the notes from the address, so more of them are recovered.
A road database made to measure
What the official database doesn't know would be rejected. With viario you add it yourself: new streets, names in use, named places. It applies only to your calls, and from then on those addresses resolve.
Missing streets
A street that just opened, not yet in the official database: you add it with its point.
Your recipients' names
Abbreviations and everyday names, like “V.le Marconi” for Viale Guglielmo Marconi.
Places you know
A warehouse, a shop, a shopping centre: its name becomes a delivery point.
You adapt it to how you work: the more tailored it is, the more addresses resolve. It is free during the beta.
How the beta works
Before building the rest we want to learn whether it is really needed, and by whom. That is why people come in small groups.
You join the list
Leave your name and email and tell us why you are interested: two minutes, and it helps us decide who to invite first.
We invite you
We write to you when a place opens, with your access key and the documentation. No card needed.
You try it and tell us what is wrong
You use viario on your real addresses. The ones that do not resolve interest us most: they are the best way to improve.
What the beta really is
It is a prototype. We say so up front, so you know what to expect.
- It may change, stop or have errors: do not use it yet for anything that cannot fail.
- Returned addresses are suggestions and we take no responsibility for how they are used.
- The addresses you send are used to make the service work. The details are on the Data and privacy page.
