What is viario?
An API that validates, normalizes and geocodes Italian addresses. You send the address as written and get street, door number, postcode, city and province, the point on the map with its precision and an outcome.
How much does the beta cost?
Nothing. It is free, we do not ask for a card or any other payment method and there is no automatic charge. When the beta ends we will write to you first, and you decide whether to continue.
How do I get in?
Join the waitlist and tell us why you are interested. We invite in waves, based on who has the clearest need and on volumes. We write to you, with the key and the documentation.
How many calls can I make?
The beta usage limits are still to be defined: [daily and per-second limit]. We tell you in the invitation.
What do resolved, to check and not identified mean?
Resolved: the address was recognized. To check: there is a result but we are not sure, so we suggest you verify it. Not identified: we could not resolve it, and we tell you why.
What is the score?
A number from 0 to 1 showing how closely the returned address matches the one you wrote: 1 means it is the same apart from case and abbreviations. It is a suggestion to help you decide whether to trust it, not a guarantee.
Can I trust the address you return?
Addresses, map points, outcome and score are suggestions, drawn from public sources that may be incomplete or out of date. We take no responsibility for how you use them: always check before decisions that matter.
Can I use it in production?
For now it is better not to. It is a prototype: it may change, stop or have errors, and we offer no service guarantees. It is fine for trying it on your addresses and telling us what is wrong.
Where do I enter my password?
Only on auth.viario.io, the portal sign-in page. No email and no other viario page will ever ask for your password: if one does, do not enter it and write to us.
Where are the servers and the data?
Servers are hosted by Hostinger in Germany and the data stays in Europe. The showcase site, which holds no customer data, is on Cloudflare Pages.
What data do you need for the waitlist?
Name, email and the answers you choose in the form, such as role, volume and reasons. We use them only to run the beta and write to you. The details are on the Data and privacy page.
Who is behind viario?
A group of industry professionals specialized in distributed architectures and innovative solutions. For now viario is a project in validation: if the beta works, we will build it as a real service.
